The airport is located 6 km far from the capital of Zakynthos, in the area of Laganas and 1 km far from the beach resorts of Laganas and Kalamaki.
The airport welcomes 300.000 visitors per year and the flights present a threat to the survival of the sea turtle Caretta-Caretta.
Public buses run frequently to/from the airport but the best manner to reach your hotel is by taxi. There is a taxi rank in front of the airport.
Many Zakynthos hotels and apartments propose the transfer with their mini buses and sometimes with their own cars
